Degrees and Certifications:
WELCOME MESSAGE TO PARENTS
Last school year, we ended on a high note having MET STANDARD on the STAAR Accountability and exceeding growth in 3 of the 4 indexes. Adding to this momentum, we are excited about the 2016 – 2017 school year, and the new programs that will be implemented. Our school motto this year is ALL-IN (Actively Leading Learners by Inspiring Now), meaning we are “ALL-IN” for student achievement and no matter the circumstance, that will continue to be our top priority. This year, we will continue to focus on reading and writing as that is the core to continued success in all content areas. AVID, Advancement via Individual Determination, is a new program to Adams, but not new to school districts. AVID is a college readiness program designed to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in college, and ultimately in life. The program places special emphasis on growing writing, critical thinking, teamwork, organization, and reading skills. Please notify your student’s counselor if you are interested in this amazing opportunity for your student.
Another program we will implement this year is Capturing Kid’s Hearts. Capturing Kid’s Hearts (CKH) shows teachers how to create high-achieving centers of learning. We will work to build meaningful and appropriate relationships with our students that will enhance their academic performance and social behavior. CKH will provide teachers the tools to engage and challenge students, and raise them to a higher level of performance.
We look forward to an outstanding school year! Please visit our website, Facebook page and Twitter accounts for updates and campus information. Also, we are always in need of parent volunteers, and welcome the opportunity to have you be a part of our upcoming events. Please call the school or check the website for opportunities.
